About a block down I walked into “Exclusive shops'” sister store “Red Pepper”. Once again I was greeted by a smiling woman's face. I was so impressed by the “woman friendly” atmosphere these sex shops had. This store like its sister store was also geared to women and straight men. The store was very bright and spacious. Jasmine, the salesperson, explained that they offer stripper wear and sexy female attire. Red Pepper allows trying sexy clothing on, and encourages questions. If you go in I am sure Jasmine will take very good care of you, and help you out with all of your adult related questions.
Jasmine showed me some of New Zealand's local sex magazines, featuring pictures of blonds and the native Mauri women. The magazine is a good guide for the straight visitors because it contains information about local stores, escorts, massages and classifieds. The main magazine is called “NZX.”
Red Pepper has video booths and a backroom (lounge) as well. The backroom was small dark square room with some chairs and a television showing porn, condoms lube and tissues are supplied. Jasmine told me that in the week prior to my arrival a middle aged exhibitionist couple had sex in the backroom, and put on quite a show for the people there.
I was asking Jasmine about New Zealand made sex products and she told me that Red pepper sells a line of paddles and bdsm leather gear from a local vendor called “WildLeather”. There were a few paddles that looked like quite impressive sold pieces, and there were also ball stretchers and cuffs. I did not see any heavy bondage equipment or leather gear made locally.
